New Resident is the (r)evolution of award-winning, cult-followed feminist architecture practice, Whispering Smith. Based in Fremantle, Western Australia, its projects have been featured in ArchDaily, the Design Files, Domus, Habitus, ArchitectureAU, Houses Magazine and DesignBoom.
New Resident sees ‘business as usual’ as the enemy. The old way (traditional house and land packages) will see more than 50% of Perth’s urban tree canopy destroyed, hundreds of thousands of local character homes demolished and millions of tonnes of embodied CO2 dumped in landfill. They need not.
